If you’ve noticed that your scheduled reports in GA4 Magic Reports stopped running as expected, especially when you had scheduling active on more than one Google Sheets file, this update is for you.
What happened
We identified and fixed a technical issue in how automatic scheduling was handled. When scheduling was active on more than one Google Sheets file at the same time, saving the schedule on one sheet could silently disable the schedule already set on your other sheets. This is why some reports stopped generating without any obvious reason, sometimes with no error at all.
The fix
The issue has been fixed in the latest version of the add-on, which is already live automatically. Scheduling on one sheet will no longer interfere with scheduling on any other sheet.
What you need to do
The fix prevents the issue from happening again going forward, but it doesn’t automatically re-enable scheduling on sheets that were already affected before the update. If you use automatic scheduling, please repeat these steps on each sheet where it’s enabled:
- Open the Google Sheets file and reload the page (press F5, or close and reopen the browser tab)
- Go to Extensions (or Add-ons) → GA4 Magic Reports → Schedule reports
- Click Save, even without changing anything, saving again is enough
In rare cases, a single report may not run on its first expected cycle even right after re-saving. This can happen due to a known limitation of the underlying Google Sheets / Apps Script platform the add-on runs on. If this happens, simply saving the schedule again on that specific sheet resolves it.
Running into something else?
If what you’re seeing doesn’t match this issue, it may be one of the more common, usually unrelated problems users run into with the add-on. Most of these don’t actually depend on the add-on itself. You’ll find the most frequent ones, and how to solve them, here:
